Jasmine rice is a special variety of long grain rice that grows in the mountainous regions of northeastern Thailand. It grows only from September to December, irrigated by rain and clean mountain water. As a result, it becomes sparkling white and fragrant.

Only rice grown in Thailand under natural conditions, irrigated with mountain and rainwater, can be called jasmine rice.

Its nipples are smooth, shiny and with a silky sheen. Each berry has a longitudinal line in the middle, so when cooked it cracks slightly, and this gives the cooked rice an incredibly tender and delicate aroma.

Cooked, the jasmine rice becomes soft and white as snow. It has a delicate and aromatic taste and is often served without additives as a main dish.

The secret of the preparation of jasmine rice consists in the fact that a minimum amount of water is used in its cooking. Thai masters even wash the rice grains, tie them in a piece of cloth and steam them.

When cooking jasmine rice, the proportion of a cup of rice to a glass and a half of water is observed. Place the pan on the stove with the lid tightly closed and after boiling, simmer for 20 minutes. Then dig with a fork and leave for 5 minutes. It can then be served.

When cooking jasmine rice it does not stick and remains light and airy. It is literally spilled on a plate, with each berry separate. Jasmine rice is often served with fruit and sweet syrup.

Jasmine rice goes well with pineapple or oyster sauce, as well as vegetables and fish. Jasmine rice should not be combined with mustard or honey because they kill its aroma.

Jasmine rice is very suitable for combination with seafood, but without the addition of heavy sauces, because they will muffle its fine, barely perceptible aroma.
