Star apple / Star Apple or Chrysophyllum cainito / is a tropical evergreen tree of the family Sapotaceae. It grows in the Caribbean and elsewhere. It is also known as Caimito, Golden Tree, Milk Fruit, Satin Leaf, Star Plum, West Indian Star Apple, Abiaba.

The star apple tree is erect, 25 to 100 feet (8-30 m) tall. Its leaves are elliptical or oblong. They reach 5 to 15 cm in length. They are green and shiny from the upper surface, and underneath they are covered with brownish veins when they are mature, and silver when they are young.

The small, inconspicuous colors of the tree are yellowish or purple. The fruits are round, elliptical or pear-shaped, 5-10 cm in diameter. They can be red-purple, dark purple or pale green.
