To make tea from troskot 2 tablespoons are needed of the herb, which is boiled in 500 ml of water for about 10 minutes. Tea is drunk in 150 ml before meals, 4 times a day.
Except in the form of a decoction, from troskot a tincture is extracted. The tincture is made by soaking the roots of the plant in water. Already prepared tincture is taken in a dose of 3 to 6 ml three times a day.
In folk medicine, cob is used mainly as a diuretic and laxative. The duretic effect is most likely due to the vasodilating effect (increases blood supply) on the vessels of the kidneys. The laxative effect of cobwebs may be related to the presence of saponins and mucous substances in it.
