Tourists from the Black Sea coast have warned that most of the alcohol on offer is of poor quality and even dangerous to health.

It turned out that the bottles of whiskey, which are sold at prices of 350 leva, are not of good quality and are often offered in the small hours of the night, when most customers are well served and cannot immediately feel the fake alcohol.

Health experts say that poor quality alcohol is very dangerous to human health and can lead to paralysis, blindness and, in worse cases, even death.

Counterfeit alcohol is full of methanol, which in small quantities is dangerous to health.

Hundreds of young people have filed a complaint against a restaurant in Burgas, saying that after only a few shots in the Burgas disco they started vomiting uncontrollably.

Information is spreading on Facebook that alcoholic beverages on the native Black Sea coast are pure poison.

"I order whiskey for 350 leva, but it turned out that they sold me poison," said a client of a local restaurant.

Recently, during inspections in Varna, 12,000 bottles of counterfeit alcohol were found and destroyed, which was sold under the renowned brands Jack Daniels and Finland.

The approaching summer and the expected tourists in our seaside resorts are increasingly activating the domestic counterfeiters, who flood the market with low-quality and dangerous alcohol.

A few days ago, 1.5 tons of illegal alcohol was seized in Katunitsa. The resident of the village was arrested after an action by customs officers.

The illegal trader was fined BGN 26,500 after vodka, mastic and brandy were found in the yard of his home, which are sold illegally and do not have the necessary documents proving that alcohol is safe for consumption.

The President of the National Vine and Wine Chamber, Professor Plamen Mollov, also made no secret of the fact that half of the alcohol offered in our country is fake.

The expert said that the lack of control is among the biggest problems in the sector and for now no one can be held accountable for counterfeit vodkas and whiskeys.
