Either way, chocolate happiness and heart happiness meet 14 February in all sorts of traditions and tastes around the world. In Europe and America, lovers have a custom of giving away roses and balloons, chocolates and hearts to express their feelings. So it is in Asia, even in Africa.

The only country in which it is officially forbidden to celebrates Valentine's Day, is Saudi Arabia. But even there, love knows no fear and young people often hide chocolate gifts under their coats.

In Japan, on the other hand, the tradition is changing to the strange order for women to give chocolate to men. Most often the gift is a box of chocolate treats, and for each of the men in the environment, most often colleagues. But men don't get away so easily. On March 14, a holiday called White Day, they must return the gesture and fill the women with treats.

The tradition in South Korea is similar, but there, after White Day, Black Day is held. Then all the lonely souls gather for a party with a special food - Jajanmyon (pasta covered with a thick dark sauce) and a glass of soju.

The chocolate is a must-have gift for lovers in Thailand as well. There, in addition to the sweet chocolate hearts, the lovers also give each other a teddy bear, flowers or jewelry. And everything, of course, necessarily in the shape of hearts.

Singapore is one of the few countries in which St. Valentine cheats on chocolate. There, tradition dictates that women write love words in tangerines, which they then throw into the river with the desire to find the loved one they dream of.

In South Africa, Valentine's Day is an occasion for a big fiesta and a very festive atmosphere. And it is, of course, associated with a lot of food and drink during discos and balls. The atmosphere is similar in Brazil, where Valentine's Day is accompanied by a lot of fun in the company of plenty of food and drink. And, of course, of gifts in which His Majesty has a central role again the chocolate.

Italians also rely on the sweet temptation to show someone that they love him. Purely in Italian, however, they have introduced their element into the chocolate tradition and have adopted the custom of wrapping candies in leaflets with love messages.
