It is typical for the rapid decline of acids, almost immediately after the onset of its optimal maturity, so the time of harvest must be carefully selected.

Pinot Gris prefers slopes that are rich in humus-carbonate or gravelly soils. It belongs to the wine grape varieties that ripen in the first days of September. When grown in suitable conditions, the vines develop at a moderate pace. They are characterized by high fertility and medium yield. Pinot Gris is a varietywhich has more positive qualities. It is not sensitive to low or high temperatures. It also has the ability to recover quickly. Of course, the variety also has its weaknesses - it is resistant to mold, gray rot and oidium.

History of Pinot Gris

The roots of Pinot Gris must be traced to France. It is believed to have descended from the Pinot Noir family. It is believed that Pinot Gris has been known to growers since the Middle Ages. Until the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, these vines were widespread in Burgundy and Champagne. Scientists from the University of California have concluded that pinot games has a similar DNA profile to Pinot Noir. According to them, the difference in colors is due to a genetic mutation that occurred centuries ago.

Pinot Gris is cited as one of the aristocratic wines. His presence at the table is in itself a great event, which is why it must be presented appropriately.
