Most people have grown up eating jam or homemade jam on cold winter evenings. The other temptation we still love and consume is compotes.
Although less and less commonly produced, compotes are still loved and used. How useful they are is a question we can ask for any other drink or food.
We are increasingly looking at everything we consume to be "organic", thinking that once there is such a label, then we buy quality. We can find a variety of opinions about compotes - they were harmful because there was a lot of sugar, they made you fat, they were food for hungry students who went to study elsewhere.
Harmful and useful in this case are not only their two main meanings. Harm to one is not always harm to another, especially when it comes to food. As for the question of whether we get fat from compotes, we need to clarify that we do not gain weight from any food, but from the fact that we have overdosed on it.
We cannot call canned fruit harmful. Whether they are suitable for children is not a one-answer question. Of course, it is better to have fresh fruit. But don't you think that the fresh fruits we buy in the cold winter, for example, and which look freshly picked, are completely natural?
And when it comes to who they are food for - if your compotes are delicious and you have a habit of eating them from time to time, keep doing it. It's the same if you don't like them, but we shouldn't classify them as harmful or useful. In the end, everything is useful, as long as you do not overdo it.
But think about it - which is better to buy, natural juice in a cardboard box or open a compote and the child to drink the syrup? If the compote contains sugar, then the other products on the market contain preservatives and various other ingredients that are harmful to you and your children.
If you think there is a lot of sugar in the compote - dilute it with water or when making them, put a smaller amount. In addition to the juice, the fruit can be broken and your child can drink real natural nectar, which may not bring him vitamins, but will not harm him.
