Cherries in rum are a pleasant and tasty memory of warm days. They can be prepared at once or by adding an additional amount of cherries to their ripening, because there are also late varieties of cherries. Arrange the fruit in one layer in a wide jar and cover with sugar.

Then pour rum. Put a new layer of fruit and cover with sugar, then pour rum. The proportion is 250 grams of cherries per layer, which are covered with 200 grams of sugar and poured with 100 milliliters of rum. When the jar is full, add rum to the top.

Cherry jam is also a traditional way of canning these delicious fruits.

Necessary products: per 1 kg of fruit - 1 kg and 200 grams of sugar, 2 grams of citric acid, 280 milliliters of water, 1 vanilla.

Method of preparation: Healthy fruits are selected, washed and cleaned of stalks and stones. In a deep bowl, boil the water, vanilla and sugar. When the sugar dissolves, add the fruit. Boil for about 2 hours.

When the syrup thickens, add the citric acid. The jam is poured into warmed jars, which are turned upside down and left to cool.

You can freeze cherries in the freezer. First you need to arrange them on a tray and lightly freeze them - this is done so that they do not stick to each other.

It is recommended to freeze pitted fruit. Once slightly frozen, they are distributed in envelopes and arranged in the freezer.
